Class Description:

"Contemporary Innovations in Appraisal Litigation" addresses key concepts in the evolving role of appraisal professionals in litigation, arbitration, and as expert witnesses. The seminar explores the roles of both Residential and Commercial appraisers in various legal settings, such as serving as arbitrators, testifying in court, and advising legal teams. Emphasis is placed on the procedural requirements, ethical standards, and practical challenges that appraisers face in litigation and arbitration. Key areas include understanding arbitration, the appraisal process in litigation, and strategies for effective courtroom testimony. Additionally, the seminar touches on the role of real estate economists in litigation support, specifically in the context of complex property types like regional malls and big-box retail.
